Hi my Girlies!
I think I owe you an apology…
Long-time no blog, and I am deeply sorry for that. If I’m completely honest life has quite literally been running away from me. I’m sure many of you will be able to relate! So, let’s have a catch up, I’ve got lots of exciting news to share also.

Ok so let’s start with LA, I feel as though that’s where it all got a lil’ hectic - but in the best way. So LA was extremely last minute for us, one random night one of my best friends (Saffron) and I literally decided to book a flight, and flew within 5 days. I feel extremely fortunate that we were able to just do that as I’ve always wanted to live that spontaneous life, and after dance college now having this freedom over my 9:00 to 5:00 and being self-employed, I’m just trying to take life by the horns and run with it. In LA we went to dance classes, Saffron went to her acting classes, it was kind of a little bit of a working holiday and one that I extremely enjoyed. I just felt so inspired being out in LA, surrounding yourself with people who are in the creative industry and who were working towards their goals and dreams.
And if I'm completely honest, I now feel like I've kind of got my passion for dance back, which I am beyond excited about. Because I was getting to a point where I was like, ‘am I going to find my love for dance again’, ‘is it going to be a possibility’, ‘when is it going to come back’, and I think just being out in LA in a completely foreign space actually made me feel more confident to kind of go and make those mistakes. To start learning again. I sometimes preach to the choir about not caring and letting go, but I think sometimes I really need to listen to those own words.
Now being back in London, I do feel as though I’ve sort of got my confidence back to go and start training in London again. Which if you couldn’t tell already I am over the moon about!
After LA there was literally one day between coming back and flying out to Japan. Now Japan really took me off guard, I booked this as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday back in February and we decided to go in April because it is of course blossom season also known as Sakura season. Now with this being my boyfriend's dream, I was more than happy, more than excited to go, but I really didn't think I was going to love it near as much as I did.
Honestly hand on my heart if you ever get the chance to go or you're ever considering it please, please, go. It was genuinely incredible, the culture is so different to ours in so many different ways, it's a huge eye opener! Everyone out there was more than accommodating. We were a bit scared about the language barrier, but it was actually so fine! At times it was really quite funny, where both myself and the people who we were speaking to were laughing trying to reach some kind of understanding. I feel as though as long you go with basic manors; everyone you will speak to will be very friendly. Let me know if you have any travel questions about Japan, I’m always more than happy to help if you are thinking about travelling it!
After Japan I went on the L'Oreal brand trip which, pinch me how are those words even coming out my mouth, it was such a lovely group of people and such a nice wellness retreat. Also, we played the little bit of tennis, and I will say I was absolutely shocking but I kind of want to get into it. But this is my problem, and this is where we are at this point. I just keep adding more and more things to my calendar…
I think I may have an absolute addiction to being extremely busy and I am definitely biting off more than I can chew. All of which I'm currently trying to start up my own business. I can't wait to share that side of things with you, and tell you how I found it, and all the little kinks we've come across in the process of starting up a business. It's been an extremely hard one that I have had to learn a lot of things on the job, but I can't wait to share all of it with you guys. Hopefully it will be sometime in summer! I just know that you are absolutely going to love what we're producing! EEEEeeeee.
But after all of my travels, I am back sat on my laptop again which is exactly where I want to be. I'm currently using this dictation thing on my laptop where I'm actually speaking to you guys right now, and it feels quite nice as opposed to me just tip tap typing away. Maybe a podcast could be a fun addition to this page? However more importantly you guys have my full attention, and I am really sorry that life has just gotten away from me. I hope you have enjoyed the content from my personal side of things, but we are back to focusing on you and I have so many plans for this page which I'm extremely excited about. We've got lots of collaborations coming up, lots of events whether that be London or hint hint Nottingham.
Equally I've always said that I want this community to be a two-way conversation, and I have spoken about this briefly on my stories on the Instagram page. However, I did also want to bring it up on here, as I am inviting you guys to also write your own blogs and I will be posting them weekly if we have lots of you wanting to bring your own voice into this conversation. Fingers crossed; I hope you do! What you write is completely up to you, whether it’s something you've learnt in your 20s so far, or even something you're struggling with, even if you've done a dissertation and you think ‘you know what I want a section of this out there’, considering you’ve worked really hard and researched all these amazing things I want your voices heard! I want you to be able to rely on one another, whether you want your blog post to be fully anonymous or fully accredited you can just let me know. All entries can be sent to thegirliesloveto@gmail.com , I'm so happy that a have that as a gmail it's so cute. So, I hope to hear from you very soon. And lot’s more regular content from me to come!
